How We Got Started
A Door to Morocco was created after several trips to the beautiful and diverse country itself, and seeing first hand the challenges the people experience with literacy. Our products were created as a way to sustain funding to shape the future for children through literacy and education opportunities.
Choosing to sell Argan oil was an easy choice because not only does it contain rich nutrient benefits for hair and skin but, it also provides women cooperatives an opportunity for fair and reliable income. By importing our products from the cooperatives we are empowering women in Morocco through employment and education.
The co-ops are involved in programs aimed at sustainably supporting the argan forest and reforestation which was declared a Biosphere Reserve in 1998 by UNESCO.
Our Mission
As a social enterprise, A Door to Morocco strives to support two Moroccan charities in the Fez community, while also providing women-led cooperatives of a fair income.
Medina Children's Library and Friends of Fez Orphanage are two of the charities that we support through every purchase of our products. We choose to give back to the children of these communities so they have a chance at a successful education. Every product that is sold helps to buy a new book, fund an educational field trip, or provide children with life skills that will shape their future.
Our Products
